The Richmond Boys Choir WINS a prestigious “Coming Up Taller Award”. This is an honor awarded by the Presidents Committee on Arts and Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, & the Institute of Museums and Library Services. From 350 nominations from 46 states, DC and the Virgin Islands our program was selected as one of 50 semifinalists. This award distinguishes us as one of the top arts and humanities based programs in the country serving youth beyond the school hours.

The finalist received a grant and a plaque given by the First Lady Laura Bush at an award ceremony at the White House. In addition, the choir was selected as one of two performing ensembles for the East Room awards ceremony. The Richmond Boys Choir is the first VA based organization to receive this honor.
